Job summary

WestCare Milwaukee seeks a Program Director to lead nonprofit veteran services programs, ensuring grant compliance, VA and state rules, contractual obligations, and WestCare policies. You will supervise staff, build partnerships with Veteran-serving organizations, oversee grant performance, and drive service quality and outcomes.

The position requires collaboration with organizational leadership, regular funder reporting, and ensuring ethical, trauma-informed care across all operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in behavioral health or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Experience managing grant-funded programs preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and day-to-day management of the program.
• Ensure grant and VA requirements are met and program activities align with approved budgets.
• Develop and monitor program procedures, workflows, and service delivery.
• Monitor performance and outcomes, and identify efficiency improvements.
• Oversee staff supervision, development, and staffing coverage.
• Engage with community partners and VA facilities to support services.
• Participate in governance, grant reporting, and quality improvement activities.
