Job summary

WestCare Tennessee is seeking a Full-Time Peer Support Specialist at Second Chance Recovery Center in Jefferson City, TN to assist veterans and families with suicide prevention, awareness, and community resource linkage.

You will coordinate weekly peer support meetings, conduct outreach in designated counties, help with intake and referrals, and maintain data in VA tracking systems (MITRE and Squares) and WestCare databases.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Preferred degree in communications, sociology, criminal justice, social work, psychology, or related human services field.
• 3–5 years of veteran-service experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Previous military experience and employment is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to eligible veterans and families.
• Coordinate and attend community events to promote the program.
• Facilitate weekly peer‑support meetings in person or virtually.
• Maintain VA tracking data and WestCare's Clinical Database System.
• Assist with employment, housing, and other veteran services referrals.
• Partner with the Case Manager and Project Director on outcomes reporting.
