Job summary

Central City Concern seeks a Peer Support Specialist to assist Veterans navigating housing, benefits, and recovery services. You will work with case managers and other providers to support participants in achieving stable housing and income goals.

Ideal candidates have peered support credentials and a commitment to trauma-informed care, with flexibility for evening and weekend work. Travel within the service area may be involved.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; ability to read and write at a sufficient level.
• Registered with MHACBO as CRM or PSS and registered with Traditional Health Workers Registry.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and pass DMV background check.
• Knowledge of veteran services and resources in the local area.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterans in working toward goals of income enhancement and housing stability.
• Model recovery and self-sufficiency to participants.
• Coordinate with case managers and Veterans to implement service plans.
• Attend required meetings and maintain documentation of peer contacts.
• Collaborate with community resources to remove barriers and make referrals.
