Job summary

Bluebonnet Trails Community Services is seeking a Veteran Program Counselor to deliver trauma-informed behavioral health services to Veterans, Service Members, and their families. The role supports assessments, therapy, and treatment planning in a primarily remote setting with onsite needs as required.

Advanced licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) is required in Texas, with a valid Texas driver’s license, and experience with military populations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Advanced licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) to provide clinical counseling in Texas.
• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• Minimum six months of providing mental health or substance use wellness and recovery services to military populations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, recovery-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trauma-informed mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
• Provide individual and group counseling.
• Develop Person-Centered Recovery Plans and treatment planning.
• Deliver crisis intervention and evidence-based psychotherapies (e.g., CBT, TF-CBT, MI).
• Coordinate care with VA, TVC, and community organizations; facilitate referrals.
• Document accurately in the EHR and participate in supervision and program development.
