Job summary

The Bindu Institute, LLC is seeking a Life Skills Coach to work in a community-based setting with individuals who have brain injuries or neurological conditions. You will provide functional supports to help clients live independently and access community resources.

Responsibilities include advocacy, daily documentation, transportation support, and facilitating participation in social activities. A valid driver’s license and background check are required; part-time hours with a flexible schedule

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Reliable computer or device for daily documentation; MS Word, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat Reader required.
• BS/BA in related field OR 1-2 years' experience with adults who are developmentally disabled or related experience preferred.
• Maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Background check and driving record check.
• Reside within a reasonable commute to the client.
• Company insurance requirements: minimum coverage as listed.
• Military background or experience with veterans a plus.
• Ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with team members.

Responsibilities

• Provides positive support and advocacy for the client.
• Guides clients in identifying choices and making informed decisions.
• Structures household management and establishes safe routines.
• Assists participation in recreation and community activities to promote socialization.
• Helps clients improve community living and integration skills.
• Provides training or assistance with mobility and transportation.
• Supports development of effective communication and social skills.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA/company policies.
