Job summary

The Bindu Institute, LLC is seeking a Life Skills Coach to work in community settings with individuals who have brain injuries or neurological conditions. The role focuses on delivering individualized supports to help clients live independently, access community resources, and build essential life skills.

Responsibilities include advocacy, decision-making support, household management, social participation, and transportation assistance to facilitate reintegration into the community.

Qualifications

• Experience with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Must have reliable computer or device for daily documentation.
• BS/BA in related field or 1–2 years' experience working with adults who are developmentally disabled preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide positive support and advocacy for the client.
• Assist with identifying choices and informed decisions in client activities.
• Provide structure for household management and safe routines.
• Assist participation in recreation and community activities to promote socialization.
• Assist clients with community living and integration in various settings with transportation as needed.
• Work with clients to pursue desired recreational and social activities within their community.
• Provide training or assistance with mobility using adaptive aids and accessing public transportation.
• Develop effective communication and social skills in clients.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies.
