Job summary

VOA Mid-States is seeking an Income Maximization Case Manager in Bowling Green, KY to help Veterans end housing crises by securing income through training, employment, and benefits.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field (or equivalent experience), travel up to 70%, and the ability to coordinate with local agencies. You will document progress, advocate for clients, and support their path to stable housing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, or five years’ experience in the field.
• Must have personal automobile, valid driver’s license, liability insurance.
• Willing and able to travel up to 70% of the time.
• Complete required case management training within 90 days and SOAR online training.
• Commitment to the principles of the project and ability to collaborate with local service providers.

Responsibilities

• Income Maximization Case Manager connects Veterans with benefits (SOAR, TANF, SNAP, etc.).
• Perform assessments and develop/monitor case plans with follow-up activities.
• Establish linkages with agencies and service providers; provide referrals and coordinate with VAMCs.
• Connect Veterans with American Job Centers and career centers; allocate resources by need.
• Educate participants on available services; provide referrals for financial planning, transportation, and housing counseling.
• Complete documentation within 48 hours and enter data into HMIS; demonstrate sound clinical judgment.
• Collaborate with other SSVF staff; serve as a resource for income education and support.
• Advocate for Veterans and families with culturally appropriate service delivery; coordinate with HUD‑VASH and local partners.
