Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern CA Division is seeking a Veteran Engagement Case Manager (VECM) within the Community Integrated Services (CIS) for the SSVF Program in California. The role serves veterans and conducts outreach, housing navigation, and case management.

Responsibilities include intake, assessments, service-plan development, landlord relations, housing applications, and home visits to support permanent housing and self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor4s degree in social work or a related field.
• 3 years of Homeless Services experience.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR certification within 90 days.
• Valid California Class C Driver License or acceptable alternative transport.

Responsibilities

• Conduct street outreach and participate in Collaborative Outreach with homeless providers.
• Coordinate outreach across SPA 2, 5, 6 and 7; assist beyond coverage areas as needed.
• Attend meetings: case conferences, program meetings, and by-name lists.
• Conduct screening tools to assess housing barriers and eligibility.
• Perform intake, needs assessments and develop individualized service plans.
• Build landlord relations and assist in housing applications and searches.
