Job summary

The University of Vermont is seeking a Community Outreach PC2 X to provide critical, in-person case management and housing navigation services to very low-income Veteran families across northern Vermont and Clinton County, NY. The role uses Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care to improve housing stability and connect families with community resources.

You will drive throughout northern Vermont, guide families through the stability process, and document progress in case management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field and two years of applicable experience required.
• Effective verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability with training to use computerized case management applications to enter and track participant information; ability to understand and explain program details and workflow required.

Responsibilities

• Guide families through the housing stability process and connect them to community resources.
• Provide direct assistance and support to stabilize housing for Veteran families who are literally homeless or at risk.
• Travel across northern Vermont to meet with Veterans in person; travel reimbursed at the federal mileage rate.
