Job summary

Loyal Source is seeking an Examiner Nurse Practitioner to perform Compensation & Pension (C&P) Examinations for Veterans applying for VA disability benefits. The role includes review of claims, focused assessments, medical record review, and preparing medical opinions. Travel of up to 10% and charting from home may be required.

You will work under VA guidelines and collaborate with QA teams. Qualifications include an active NP license, at least 1 year of NP experience, and familiarity with HIPAA

Qualifications

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing with a valid, unrestricted NP license in the United States.
• Minimum 1 year of Nurse Practitioner experience.
• Experience with medical disability examinations or related field preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification required (renewals).
• Authorized to work in the United States; federal contractor requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Medical Disability Examinations including reviewing medical history and performing focused physical evaluations.
• Review medical records, diagnostic results, and other documentation to understand the patient’s condition.
• Render objective medical opinions on the extent of disability and impact on work and daily activities.
• Manage caseload and coordinate with QA team and other healthcare professionals.
