Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Peer Support Specialist II/Battle Buddy to empower veterans and MilFam in their recovery and reintegration journey. You will provide outreach, mentoring, and resource referrals while collaborating with clinical staff to support independence and housing and employment goals.

On-site role based in Los Angeles area, offering veteran-focused services, mandatory training, and a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Pass a fingerprint clearance and background check.
• Current TB screening and immunization records.
• Copy of current professional license if applicable.
• Current BLS certification within 15 days of hire.
• 75 hours of VPAN staff trainings plus VA Peer Certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer counseling and outreach to veterans and MilFam.
• Accompany participants to appointments, housing searches, and benefits sessions.
• Assist in developing recovery plans with skills, supports, and resources.
• Refer clients to legal, community, social service, and administrative bodies.
• Monitor progress and assist with recovery/service plans.
