Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is posting on-site opportunities focused on helping veterans and vulnerable community members. You will accompany participants to appointments, assist with housing searches, and help build recovery plans with available supports and resources.

The role emphasizes coordination across service programs, engagement with local housing and welfare services, and maintaining client confidentiality in a challenging, community-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background check required.
• TB screening and immunization records within 5 days of hire.
• Copy of current professional license if applicable.
• Current BLS certification within 15 days of hire.
• Completion of all required trainings within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to perform under emotional stress and handle challenging clients.

Responsibilities

• Services for this position must be provided on-site daily.
• Accompany participants to benefits from veteran and community programs.
• Refer clients to legal, community, social service, and administrative bodies as needed.
• Monitor assigned participants and conduct home visits.
• Assist clients in removing barriers to employment, housing, and sobriety.
• Support groups and integration with county systems for housing and VA services.
• Other duties as required and may change.
