Job summary

A-Team Solutions is seeking two full-time Peer Support Specialists to serve Veterans in the Greater Los Angeles area. This role integrates with an interdisciplinary team to support recovery and personal wellness goals through evidence-based peer approaches.

The position requires a veteran status, English proficiency, and knowledge of California welfare programs, with mandatory BLS certification and a valid California driver’s license for home visits and community outreach.

Qualifications

• VA designated Peer Specialist certification within six months of service and certification within one year.
• Proficient in writing and speaking English with correct grammar and enunciation.
• Knowledge of the State of California Welfare Programs.
• Working knowledge of medical and psychiatric diagnostic terminology.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a fully vested member of the multidisciplinary team and complete assignments based on peer support knowledge.
• Assist Veterans to articulate personal recovery goals and develop wellness plans.
• Provide recovery-focused peer support across outpatient, inpatient, and community settings.
• Orient new Veterans to program services, hours, and locations.
• Monitor progress and report concerns to the treatment team in a timely manner.
• Develop and implement personal wellness and recovery plans with Veterans.
• Coach Veterans in self-management and recovery tools.
