KIA Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP) seeks veterans to begin a career as a Kia Certified Service Technician. The program is designed and run by Kia America, Inc. and participating Kia Retailers.

It includes a one-year competency-based GI Bill approved apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification. Participants gain access to all tools, equipment, and training needed for the apprenticeship, with potential GI Bill Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) during the

Qualifications

• Honorable Discharge is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Experience in a technical or mechanical field is required.
• Must be willing to complete drug screening and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engine, transmission, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and electrical components.
• Complete repair orders and warranty requests according to Kia and Retailer policies.
• Test drive vehicles and diagnose/repair components using Kia diagnostic strategies and tools.
• Communicate with the shop foreman and service advisor to promote an optimal customer experience.
