A structured program for Military Veterans is seeking an Automotive Technician Apprentice to gain hands-on experience at a Kia dealership. The apprenticeship, part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), offers training and tools required to become a skilled Kia Service Technician. Applicants should have mechanical experience, an honorable discharge from the U.S. Military, and a valid driver's license. The program is GI Bill® approved, allowing eligible Veterans to receive a Monthly Housing Allowance during their training.
Qualifications
Military experience with an honorable discharge is required.
Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field is necessary.
Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and transmissions.
Perform vehicle inspections and diagnostics using Kia procedures.
Communicate effectively with service advisors and maintain safety.
Skills
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment
Basic automotive maintenance or repair experience
Familiarity with diagnostic tools and hand tools
Education
Honorable Discharge from U.S. Military Service
