Job summary

Kiavets in Waukegan, IL is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the role of Automotive Service Technician. This position is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), allowing Veterans to gain dealership experience while preparing for Kia Service Technician certification.

As an apprentice, you will work alongside experienced technicians to develop the skills necessary for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing Kia vehicles. The program is GI Bill® approved and offers a Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) for eligible Veterans.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engines and transmissions.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs using Kia diagnostic procedures.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors to enhance customer experience.
