Job summary

A leading automotive dealership in Dearborn, Michigan is looking for Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the Automotive Service Technician role. This position is part of a structured apprenticeship program, the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), where participants gain hands-on experience while completing a one-year competency-based apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification. The program is GI Bill® approved, providing eligible Veterans with training and Monthly Housing Allowance during their apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Military Veterans with mechanical experience are preferred.
• Participation in the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP).
• GI Bill® eligibility for Monthly Housing Allowance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles, including engines and electrical systems.
• Perform vehicle inspections and mechanical repairs.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Skills

Basic automotive maintenance or repair experience

Familiarity with diagnostic tools

Experience working with engines

ASE certifications
