Job summary

A participating automotive dealership in Ypsilanti seeks Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the role of Automotive Service Technician Apprentice. This full-time position is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program, which provides hands-on training and the opportunity to achieve Kia Service Technician certification. Candidates should have basic automotive experience and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment. The program is GI Bill® approved, offering a Monthly Housing Allowance for eligible Veterans.

Qualifications

• Basic automotive maintenance or repair experience required.
• Experience working with engines, electrical systems, or mechanical equipment.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and hand tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and transmissions.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and ensure customer satisfaction.

Skills

Troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
