Job summary

A local automotive dealership in Kennesaw, GA, is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the Automotive Service Technician position. This role is part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), providing hands-on experience and a GI Bill® approved apprenticeship leading to Kia Service Technician certification. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing Kia vehicles, effective communication with service staff, and maintaining safety protocols. Applicants must have a valid driver's license, prior mechanical experience, and undergo background checks.

Qualifications

• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic skills and prior mechanical experience required.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and electrical systems.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and maintain a safe work environment.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment
