Job summary

Kiavets in Independence, MO is seeking Military Veterans with mechanical experience for the role of Automotive Service Technician. As part of the Kia Veterans Technician Apprenticeship Program (VTAP), this position provides hands-on dealership experience and leads to Kia Service Technician certification. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing Kia vehicles, performing inspections, and completing documentation. Candidates must have an honorable military discharge and prior mechanical experience. Full-time employment with additional benefits, including a monthly housing allowance, is available.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a mechanical or technical field.
• Willingness to complete background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair Kia vehicles including engines and transmissions.
• Perform vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Test drive vehicles and verify repair quality using diagnostic tools.

Skills

Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced dealership service environment

Basic automotive maintenance or repair experience
