Job summary

CityVet is seeking Veterinary Technician Assistants in a city-based clinic to support our VT team with surgeries, triage, and client care. Candidates with at least 1 year in a veterinary setting or entry-level applicants willing to train are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 18 years old at hire.
• At least 1 year of veterinary industry experience.
• Ability to restrain animals safely.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and medications.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Self-motivated and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Veterinary Technician (VT) in preparing patients for medical, surgical, and dental surgeries by assisting in the administration of anesthesia and properly restraining the patients as needed for examination and treatment.
• Effectively partner with the Veterinarian and Veterinary Technician (VT) Teams to administer proper patient triage protocol based on the client and facilities' needs and capabilities in a fast-paced and effective manner.
• Aid Veterinary Technicians (VT) with booked appointments, walk-ins, and work-ins, including recording observations/treatment plans in the patient file, and aid in the performance of medical treatments under doctor supervision.
• Assist the Client Service Specialist team when needed
