Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of post-high school experience or education in veterinary assisting preferred, including animal restraint, terminology, anatomy, first aid, and medication administration.

Responsibilities

• Assist with medical treatments of hospital patients, including feeding and grooming.
• Restrain patients for procedures and take histories.
• Prepare treatment rooms and set up for procedures (surgery, endoscopy, ultrasound, ICU, etc.).
• Transport samples to labs and manage routine paperwork and scheduling.
• Enter charges, census, and patient information into databases.
• Administer oral medications and monitor vital signs.
