Job summary

The University of Minnesota's Veterinary Medical Center in Minneapolis seeks a Senior Veterinary Technician - ICU, 2nd shift to support doctors and the veterinary care team in emergency and intensive care settings. Qualifications

• Graduate of Animal Health Technician or equivalent program; MVMA/MA VT certification.
• Minimum of one year of veterinary medical experience.
• Ability to act independently with little or no supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians and patients with procedures, including radiographic procedures, surgeries, venipunctures, vaccinations, anesthesia, intensive or emergency care.
• Perform intravenous therapies, obtain fluid or tissue samples, and assist with diagnoses and care under DVM oversight.
• Maintain patient data and assist with daily rounds and teaching/training of staff and students.
