Qualifications

• Must be Credentialed Veterinary Technician in the state where the hospital is located.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Technician or working in a veterinary practice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Compassionate and sympathetic with professional demeanor.
• Strong telephone and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet clients and patients, obtain history, record vitals and notes in EMR, and escort to exam rooms.
• Assist veterinarians with routine and emergency appointments, surgery, dentistry, and euthanasia under supervision.
• Perform patient restraint, collect lab samples, dispense medications as directed, and maintain EMR.
• Schedule appointments, educate clients, relay test results, update records, and manage inventory and accounts receivable.
• Prepare patients for procedures, monitor anesthesia, assist with recovery and discharge.
• Provide in-hospital treatments and care, including injections, IV fluids, feeding, and exercise as directed.
• Participate in training of new staff and share knowledge.
