Job summary

United Veterinary Care invites veterinary students to join externships at our network of hospitals, including Central Texas Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital Round Rock. This program provides hands-on experience in GP, ER and specialty settings under supervision from experienced clinicians.

Stipends are available to offset travel and lodging costs, making these externships accessible for students pursuing school credit and professional development.

Qualifications

• Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Priority scheduling is given to students in clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit.
• Must provide proof of professional liability insurance, SAVMA members qualify for no-cost insurance by applying at the SAVMA resources link.

Responsibilities

• Externships are supervised by an experienced veterinarian and support staff.
• Participants will be involved in cases across GP, ER, and specialty settings and will discuss cases with supervising veterinarians to confirm exam findings.
