Job summary

United Veterinary Care invites veterinary students to participate in externships across our network of hospitals. These rotations provide hands-on experience in general practice, emergency, and specialty settings, with an emphasis on learning through cases and teamwork.

Applicants must be enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary school and have liability insurance. Priority is given to clinical-year students on official externship blocks for school credit, with stipends to offset travel and

• Must be a current veterinary student at an AVMA-accredited veterinary school.
• Priority scheduling is given to students in their clinical years on official externship blocks for school credit.
• Must provide proof of professional liability insurance. SAVMA members qualify for no cost insurance by applying at the AVMA PLIT link.

Responsibilities

• Participate in case discussions and hands-on patient care in GP, ER, and specialty settings.
• Be integrated into the team through collaborative problem-solving and supervision by a veterinarian.
