Job summary

The Edison Chouest Offshore family of companies is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the engineering department aboard a vessel. The role requires supervising crew responsible for propulsion engines, deck machinery, electrical systems, refrigeration, and sanitary equipment.

Applicant must hold a valid merchant mariner credential and be prepared to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and maintenance best practices while coordinating with the Master and other shipboard teams.

Qualifications

• Holds a valid merchant mariner credential.
• Experience in marine engineering and ship operations is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the efficient management of the engineering department and keeping the Master fully informed of the state of the machinery and equipment.
• Supervises and coordinates activities of crew engaged in operating, proper labeling, inspection, and maintaining propulsion engines, deck machinery, electrical refrigeration, and sanitary equipment.
• Report any shortcomings, inaccuracies, or conflicts in any portion of the MS to the Master.
