Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-12 in the Federal service.
QEI-1 certification by ASME.
U.S. Citizens and National (residents of American Samoa and Swains Island).
Register with Selective Service if male born after 12/31/1959.
Background investigation (Tier 2) may be required.
Identity/work status verification via DHS e-Verify.

Responsibilities

Ensure VT inspection program complies with codes and standards; perform ASME A17.1 QEI-1 inspections and enforce code compliance.
Oversee periodic acceptance inspections and tests per ANSI/ASME A17.1; witness and accept tests for vertical transportation equipment.
Provide technical oversight for maintenance contracts; analyze elevator system data to improve service requirements.
Liaise between agency and vertical transportation contractors; review work and inspection reports.
Support tracking of VT equipment in an electronic asset system.
