Job summary

The General Services Administration seeks a Vertical Transportation Specialist Elevator Inspector to oversee the VT program across federal facilities. You will guide zonal managers, coordinate inspections, and ensure compliance with safety and code requirements.

The role requires QEI-1 certification and experience evaluating elevators, escalators and related systems, plus ability to work with contractors. Multiple duty locations and potential incentives are included.

• Ensures VT inspection program complies with codes and standards.
• Witnesses and accepts tests per ANSI/ASME A17.1; oversee annual, semiannual, five year and new installations tests as needed.
• Provides oversight for maintenance contracts; analyzes elevator data and call reports to assess faults.
