Job summary

The General Services Administration seeks a Vertical Transportation Specialist Elevator Inspector to lead VT program guidance for zonal managers and ensure compliance across federal workspaces nationwide. You will oversee inspections, manage contractor relations and support asset tracking in an electronic system.

Qualifications

• Have a QEI-1 certification from ASME or an accredited organization.
• Proven experience inspecting elevators, escalators and other VT equipment.
• Ability to review maintenance contracts and coordinate with contractors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure VT inspection program complies with codes and agency policy.
• Witness and accept VT tests per ANSI/ASME A17.1 and site requirements.
• Provide technical oversight for maintenance contracts and site visits as needed.
• Liaise with managers, mechanics and contractors on VT matters.
• Support reporting of VT assets into the agency’s asset system.
