Job summary

The Arc of Central Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure safety, functionality, and appearance of facilities. The role requires knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance practices, with the ability to travel to various work locations on demand.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with trade school certificate or equivalent experience in facilities/maintenance.
Basic understanding of facility systems and operations.
Valid driver's license with good driving record and insurable by agency.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Inspect buildings and structures to identify repairs.
Perform minor electrical maintenance: fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, cords.
Conduct minor plumbing repairs: leaks, unclog drains, hoses.
Carry out minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work; install hardware.
Perform general cleaning and upkeep of facilities.
Operate and maintain mechanical tools, paint equipment, and floor machines.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
