Job summary

Innovative Electric in Irondale, Alabama is seeking a Maintenance Technician with at least 3 years of experience to perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance tasks across interior and exterior properties.

You will read blueprints, estimate materials and time, and ensure high-quality workmanship. Company-provided phone and service vehicle are included, with a broad benefits package and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician with comparable duties.
• Knowledge of interior and exterior maintenance, carpentry and construction methods, repair, steps, flooring, subfloors, sheetrock installation, finishing and painting.
• Knowledge of minor electrical: switches, plugs, fans, and breakers.
• Knowledge of plumbing: sinks, tubs, water heaters, and drains.
• Ability to review needed work and accurately estimate needed time investment, labor, and materials.
• Must be able to bend, shift, walk, reach, stand for long periods on a hard surface, use up to a 24’ ladder, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be punctual and personable; ability to work well with others.
• Reliable daily transportation and a valid driver’s license.
• Clean driving record and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform general carpentry work including framing and baseboards.
• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to understand requirements.
• Take measurements and calculate material needs.
• Construct, repair and install building frameworks and structures.
• Remove damaged parts and repair or replace with hand tools.
• Move materials and clean up job sites.
• Drywall installation, finish and repair.
• Inspect and repair plumbing on sinks, faucets and drains.
• Repair electrical fans, plugs, switches and breakers.
• Perform interior and exterior inspections and general repairs.
• Inspect ceilings/floors/walls for damage and patch as needed.
• Do exterior repairs such as concrete patching and roof work.
