Job summary

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry RN for a 12-week assignment in Joliet. The role involves floating across units, providing direct patient care, and guiding patient/family education while maintaining professional standards.

The position requires an active RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and additional certifications as indicated. BSN is preferred; the assignment may include nights with some days. Salary is commensurate with credentials.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and current.
• ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and current.
• PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and current (Only required for floating into ER, OR, PACU, Day Patient).
• NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services.
• TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department.
• BSN preferred.
• Able to float to two or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Float RN may be assigned to two+ units and must maintain competency in all units.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice and educate patients and families.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the physician, including test results and symptoms.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
