Saint Joseph Medical Center - Joliet is seeking an Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN) for a PRN assignment in Joliet, IL. The RN will provide direct patient care, float across two or more units, and maintain clinical competency across units.

The role requires an active state RN license, BLS, ACLS, and PALS with specific timelines; NRP/AWHONN and TNCC may apply depending on unit, with BSN preferred. Compensation is competitive for a 12-week assignment.

Qualifications

• NRP or Basic Fetal monitoring (or AWHONN) within 90 days for women’s services float.
• TNCC within 12 months of hire for ED float.
• BSN preferred.

Overview

Position: Internal Registry Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: JolietDepartment: Float PoolStatus: PRNShift: Nights and Days availableCompensation: $57.50 per hour

Assignment Details:

The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks; however, staffing needs will be evaluated on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted based on operational requirements.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Float RN can be assigned to two (2) or more units based on need and will maintain competency to practice in all units. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The RN also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care. The RN is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to assigned patients on an assigned unit. She/he/them communicates with the physician about the changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of the diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in the condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Current and valid state RN License

2. Current BLS (ARC/AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

3. Current ACLS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

4. Current PALS (ARC/AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current. (Only required for floating into E.R., O.R., PACU, Day Patient.)

5. NRP and Basic Fetal monitoring or AWHONN within 90 days for employees floating to Women’s Services.

6. TNCC within 12 months of hire for employees floating to Emergency Department.

7. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

8. Able to float to two (2) or more units and maintain competency within assigned areas.

Pay Transparency

Saint Joseph Medical Center - Jolietoffers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $57.50. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
