Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a hands-on maintenance worker to perform cleaning, minor repairs, and light upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment. The role requires safe operation of a range of tools and occasional vehicle use to support deliveries and event setups.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years in maintenance or construction. A valid driver’s license and CPR/First Aid certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years’ experience in maintenance or construction.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Driver’s license; First Aid and CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum floors and maintain surfaces.
• Perform light maintenance: painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical tasks.
• Inspect for repairs and report needs to supervisor.
• Mite/yard maintenance: mow lawns, trim shrubs, plant flowers.
• Operate vehicles for local transport of goods or people as assigned.
• Setup furniture for meetings and assist events as needed.
• Assist with periodic maintenance inspections of safety systems.
