Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker to perform cleaning, light maintenance, and related tasks to keep buildings, grounds, vehicles and equipment in good condition.

You will sweep and polish floors, clean restrooms and offices, operate power tools for minor repairs, and assist with events and deliveries. A valid driver’s license and two years in maintenance are preferred to ensure reliable support across sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum two years' experience in maintenance or construction.
• Valid driver's license required; forklift and CPR certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum and wax floors as needed.
• Clean hallways, restrooms, offices and common areas.
• Empty trash and maintain waste areas.
• Provide minor building maintenance using power tools (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
• Inspect and report major repair or safety needs to management.
• Conduct routine outside maintenance including lawn care and snow removal.
• Set up furniture for meetings and assist with events as needed.
• Operate vehicles for pickups, deliveries or transport of persons.
• Perform minor repair and upkeep on vehicles and equipment.
• Support special projects and events when required.
• Replace window glass and repair doors/locks as needed.
• Maintain appliances and other equipment in working order.
• Ensure safety equipment like extinguishers and exit lights are operational.
