Job summary

The Salvation Army Indiana Division is seeking a Maintenance Worker to oversee volunteers and ensure the facility is clean, safe, and well-maintained. Responsibilities include custodial duties, preparing rooms, and minor repairs to support program activities.

Requires a HS diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and ability to pass a background check. Experience in building maintenance is preferred, and proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Able to speak, write and understand English well for communication with leadership, staff and clients.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems.
• Positive attitude and the ability to be flexible with changing job priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee volunteer workers who provide general custodial duties.
• Ensure the facility is cleaned and maintained, including fixtures, floors, trash, dusting, and restroom sanitation.
• Prepare rooms for activities and ensure equipment is available when requested.
• Monitor equipment and perform routine upkeep and minor repairs to maintain safety.
• Pickup food donation and deliver food/equipment as needed.
• Other tasks as assigned by leadership.
