Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a Cook to join our kitchen team. The Cook is responsible for preparing cooked foods, following recipes, and ensuring HACCP standards while working at high volume in a casual dining environment. This is a non-exempt, on-site role.

You will handle multiple stations (Fry, Flat Top Griddle, Pantry, and eggs) and communicate any issues to the manager on duty, providing customers with high quality service and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires 1 year of closely related cooking experience; high-volume casual dining experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP standards and food safety practices.
• Knowledge of soups, sauté, broiler, fry and pantry stations.
• Ability to read, understand instructions and communicate with customers.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds; stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares items for service across stations (Fry, Griddle, Pantry, eggs).
• Communicates ticket times and issues to the manager on duty as needed.
• Maintains high quality service for customers and staff at all times.
• Cleans and sanitizes work stations and equipment.
• Operates kitchen equipment and prepares ingredients; stocks and checks temperatures.
