Job summary

StoryPoint Independence is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repair duties on the property, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance work. The role involves outdoor tasks and requires flexibility to cover weekends and holidays in various weather conditions.

You will collaborate with multiple teams, read and interpret safety rules and procedures, and document routine reports.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or some college credits in technical school, or 1+ years related experience.
• Proficient in apartment maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and appliance repair; drywall and painting experience are essential.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions; write routine reports.
• Ability to follow written/oral instructions and solve standard problems.
• You love to laugh and work hard to provide excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Operates tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with team members.
• Identifies and reports broken equipment or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Maintains clean and safe work areas in compliance with safety regulations.
• Performs preventive maintenance on machinery and building/grounds as required.
• Maintains a positive customer service attitude with staff and residents.
