Job summary

StoryPoint Independence is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform general maintenance and repairs across apartment interiors and common areas. This role requires working weekends, holidays, and extended hours outdoors in various weather conditions to support residents and staff.

You will repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, drywall, and painting tasks, read manuals and safety rules, and report issues to supervision while upholding safety and service standards in a senior living community.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or related training; or equivalent experience.
• Proficient in apartment maintenance: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, and appliance repair.
• Drywall repairs and painting experience essential.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures; write routine reports.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Operates various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with team members.
• Identifies and reports broken equipment or uncertain conditions to the supervisor.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and safe condition per safety regulations.
• Performs preventative maintenance on machinery and building/grounds as required.
• Maintains a positive customer service attitude with staff and residents.
