Job summary

AdaptHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist – Ventilator Support to deliver expert care to ventilator-dependent patients in home and alternative settings. This field role combines hands-on patient care, education, and collaboration with physicians to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes outside the hospital.

You will assess equipment and patient records, participate in discharge planning, instruct patients and caregivers, and document care activities according to company standards.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from AMA-approved respiratory program.
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in all states serviced by the branch.
• CPR certification and a valid driver's license.
• One year of clinical ventilator exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of ventilators, HME products, and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct clinical assessments and communicate findings to physicians.
• Participate in discharge planning for ventilator-dependent patients.
• Instruct patients and caregivers on equipment use and care.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in company systems.
• Ensure HIPAA, PPE, and infection control compliance.
