Job summary

American Express is seeking a Manager of Vendor Management within Global Merchant Financial Crimes Delivery (GRRO) to own end-to-end third-party relationships across GMNS. You will lead vendor strategy, due diligence, onboarding, ongoing oversight, and offboarding, ensuring compliance with policies and cost discipline.

In a global, matrixed environment, you will partner with Product and Technology to align vendor capabilities with business needs, manage budgets, forecasts, and risk.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience with a strong understanding of vendor management, third-party risk management, procurement, and sourcing.
• Detail-oriented with analytical, communication and Excel/PowerPoint proficiency.
• Strong understanding of contract negotiation and lifecycle management.
• Experience working cross-functionally with global teams to drive process improvements and scale.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute an overarching vendor management strategy for GMNS.
• Identify and rationalize enterprise and multi-market vendor relationships to drive consistency.
• Lead pre-contract activities including due diligence and internal approvals.
• Build and manage strategic vendor partnerships to drive long-term value and innovation.
• Own and manage all activities across the vendor lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding, ensuring compliance.
