Job summary

The Vendor Management Governance Advisor at MetLife’s Global Business Solutions (GBS) serves as a regional governance partner, helping Vendor Managers apply enterprise standards, governance requirements, and reporting expectations.

The Opportunity

The Vendor Management Governance Advisor serves as a regional governance partner responsible for supporting Vendor Managers and Engagement Managers in executing enterprise vendor management standards and governance requirements.

This role acts as a trusted advisor and governance resource, helping stakeholders understand and apply vendor management policies, standards, reporting expectations, governance requirements, and operating procedures. The position supports governance consistency, program effectiveness, stakeholder enablement, and adoption of enterprise vendor management practices across assigned regions and business areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a regional representative of the Vendor Management Center of Excellence.
  • Promote consistent adoption and execution of enterprise vendor management standards, templates, process es, and operating requirements.
  • Provide guidance regarding vendor segmentation, governance requirements, and vendor management responsibilities.
  • Monitor adherence to vendor management standards and identify areas requiring remediation or additional support.
  • Support ongoing improvement of vendor management practices through feedback, standardization efforts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Governance, Reporting, and Monitoring
  • Produce reporting and insights related to governance participation, adherence, vendor performance trends, and program effectiveness.
  • Support development and maintenance of dashboards, scorecards, metrics, and management reporting.
  • Analyze governance data to identify trends, risks, adoption challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Escalate governance concerns, program risks, and material issues to leadership as appropriate.
  • Support and participate in regional governance forums, leadership updates, and management presentations to communicate key risks and trends.
Stakeholder Enablement and Support
  • Provide day-to-day support and consultation to Vendor Managers, Engagement Managers, Procurement, and business stakeholders.
  • Support delivery of training, awareness, coaching, and enablement activities.
  • Assist with onboarding of new Vendor Managers and Engagement Managers.
  • Partner with regional TPRM teams to for general support and to form regional communities of practice and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Support coordination across Procurement, Third Party Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, Technology, and business functions.
  • Support governance activities throughout the vendor lifecycle, including onboarding, segmentation, governance reviews, performance monitoring, transitions, and offboarding.
  • Assist stakeholders in navigating governance processes and escalation requirements.
  • Monitor lifecycle activities and support compliance with governance expectations.
  • Support implementation of new governance initiatives, tools, reporting capabilities, and operating model enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, automation, governance effectiveness, and data quality.
  • Contribute to development of best practices, guidance materials, and supporting documentation.
  • Support adoption and usage of VM tools, reporting capabilities, automation opportunities, and data quality improvements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in Vendor Management, Procurement, Governance, Third Party Risk Management, Operations, Compliance, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and project management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in financial services, insurance, or another regulated industry.
  • Familiarity with vendor management, supplier governance, or third-party risk management practices.
  • Experience supporting governance programs, reporting, and operational controls.
  • Experience working across global teams and regions.
  • Ability to support stakeholders across multiple countries, business functions, and organizational levels.
  • Experience delivering training, coaching, or stakeholder enablement activities preferred.

Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 - $105,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
