Job summary

Leggettlogistics seeks a Vendor Manufacturing Coordinator to manage subcontracted processes, quotes, orders, and documentation, ensuring timely delivery and quality compliance.

You will coordinate parts, maintain vendor files, and push urgent purchase requests while upholding safety and continuous improvement practices. Reading drawings, understanding machining steps, and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Sub-contract processes such as heat treat, oxide, chrome, grinding, and machining.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations.
• Confirm orders with vendors and process shipping paperwork.
• Prepare non-stocked item requests or prints.
• Monitor back orders and track late parts.
• Maintain vendor files and correspondence.
• Coordinate parts delivery and pickup; push urgent orders.
• Close jobs promptly and understand all related processes.
• Identify problems related to product, process, or quality system.
• Conform to Quality and Safety requirements; participate in CI.
• Perform other duties as requested.

POSITION: VENDOR MANUFACTURING COORDINATOR

REPORTS TO: MASTER SCHEDULER

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a cooperative attitude, necessary to work effectively with others

PRIMARY DUTIES

The primary duties of the employee are (but not limited to) the following:

• Sub-contract component processes such as heat treat, black oxide, chrome, grinding, machining, etc.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations
• Confirm orders with vendors
• Key orders and process all paperwork pertinent to shipping the orders
• Write up requests for special purchased items or prints for non-stocked manufactured items
• Monitor back orders and track late parts
• Maintain vendor files on any and all correspondence
• Push through job packets/purchase requests for urgently needed parts and follow up
• Close jobs in an expeditious manner
• Have a clear understanding of all processes involved with the position
• Identify, record and communicate any problems relating to product, process and the quality system
• Conform to all Quality and Safety requirements and procedures
• Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process
• Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate
• Coordinate parts delivery and pickup
