Job summary

Leggett & Platt in the United States is seeking a Vendor Manufacturing Coordinator to support the master scheduler and manage subcontract component processes, quotations, orders, and paperwork.

You will monitor back orders, push through purchase requests, and ensure quality and safety requirements, while coordinating parts delivery and communication with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Sub-contract component processes such as heat treat, black oxide, chrome, grinding, machining, etc.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations
• Confirm orders with vendors
• Key orders and process all paperwork pertinent to shipping the orders
• Write up requests for special purchased items or prints for non-stocked manufactured items
• Monitor back orders and track late parts
• Maintain vendor files on any and all correspondence
• Push through job packets/purchase requests for urgently needed parts and follow up
• Close jobs in an expeditious manner
• Coordinate parts delivery and pickup

POSITION: VENDOR MANUFACTURING COORDINATOR

REPORTS TO: MASTER SCHEDULER

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge about machining processes
• Ability to read and understand prints/drawings
• Quality minded
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Must have a cooperative attitude, necessary to work effectively with others
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Must be detail oriented
• Commitment to Quality Management Systems and Continuous Improvement
• Commitment to L&P Safety and Environmental initiatives

PRIMARY DUTIES:

The primary duties of the employee are (but not limited to) the following:

• Identify, record and communicate any problems relating to product, process and the quality system
• Conform to all Quality and Safety requirements and procedures
• Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process
• Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate
• Coordinate parts delivery and pickup
