The Opportunity

The Manufacturing Coordinator is the information link between Program Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, and Estimating. This role converts approved customer and program requirements into accurate ERP records and production documentation so work can be reviewed, released, scheduled, purchased, built, and verified with confidence.

Working primarily in ProShop, the Manufacturing Coordinator creates and maintains parts, routers, and work orders; supports contract review and production release; controls manufacturing information; and helps teams resolve missing, conflicting, or outdated data before it affects delivery or quality.

How the Workflow Works
  • Estimator: creates and documents the manufacturing strategy and cost basis at quote stage.
  • Program Manager: adds contract requirements after award.
  • Manufacturing Manager: creates the production plan.
  • Manufacturing Coordinator: implements the approved router in ProShop.
  • The Estimator supports clarification and handoff, but does not own released production planning or final router creation.
What Success Looks Like

Parts, routers, and work orders are accurate, complete, current, and ready when production needs them; every department can rely on the same information.

Contract-review and production-release requirements are completed consistently, with open issues and delivery risks identified and resolved early.

Documentation changes remain controlled and traceable, supporting AS9100 compliance, audit readiness, and clear accountability.

Internal customers view the Manufacturing Coordinator as responsive, organized, accurate, and dependable, and recurring issues lead to practical improvements.

What You’ll Do

Create and maintain part records, routers, bills of material, work orders, and related production data in ProShop in accordance with approved requirements.

Verify that current drawings, specifications, revisions, inspection requirements, customer notes, and supporting documents are linked to the correct part and work-order records.

Support contract review by gathering requirements, identifying missing or conflicting information, documenting open items, and coordinating resolution with the appropriate owner.

Prepare work for production release by confirming required ERP data, routing steps, purchasing needs, documentation, and approvals are complete and accurate.

Maintain controlled production documentation, including travelers, routers, work instructions, outside-processing requirements, and other job-specific records.

Coordinate manufacturing information and priorities across Program Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, and Estimating so teams are working from consistent, current data.

Support purchasing and estimating activities by organizing part history, supplier or material requirements, lead-time inputs, routing assumptions, and other requested information.

Monitor assigned work orders and data queues; follow up on open actions, communicate status, and elevate risks that could affect quality, schedule, cost, or customer commitments.

Correct ERP and documentation issues promptly while preserving traceability, revision control, and required approvals.

Follow applicable AS9100 procedures, company policies, customer requirements, and document-control practices.

Participate in audits, corrective actions, process reviews, and continual-improvement efforts related to ERP accuracy, handoffs, and production readiness.

Provide dependable administrative and coordination support for other manufacturing or program priorities as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in manufacturing coordination, production control, planning, program support, estimating support, purchasing support, or a related manufacturing role; equivalent education and experience will be considered.

Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and the discipline required to maintain accurate, complete, and traceable records.

Ability to understand manufacturing documents such as drawings, routers, bills of material, travelers, specifications, and work orders.

Strong organization and follow-through, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and close open items without losing detail.

Clear written and verbal communication skills and confidence coordinating work across departments.

Sound judgment when handling controlled information, revisions, customer requirements, and production-release decisions.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office or comparable business tools, including spreadsheets, email, and document management.

Commitment to quality, accountability, teamwork, and continual improvement.

Work environment: This role combines computer-based estimating with periodic work in a precision CNC machining environment. Required personal protective equipment must be used in production areas. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to qualified individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience with ProShop ERP.

Experience in precision machining, aerospace manufacturing, or another regulated production environment.

Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, configuration control, document control, or audit-ready quality systems.

Experience supporting contract review, production release, purchasing, estimating, or supplier coordination.

Experience improving ERP workflows, standard work, data quality, or cross-functional handoffs.
