Job summary

Leggett & Platt is seeking a Vendor Manufacturing Coordinator to support sub-contract components and coordinate parts delivery. The role reports to the Master Scheduler and focuses on evaluating vendor quotes and performance, confirming orders, and handling paperwork for shipping.

The ideal candidate will have strong computer skills, machining knowledge, the ability to read drawings, and a commitment to quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Must be detail oriented and able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and cooperate with others.

Responsibilities

  • Sub-contract component processes such as heat treat, black oxide, chrome, grinding, machining, etc.
  • Obtain and evaluate vendor quotations
  • Evaluate vendor performance
  • Confirm orders with vendors
  • Key orders and process all paperwork pertinent to shipping the orders
  • Write up requests for special purchased items or prints for non-stocked manufactured items
  • Monitor back orders and track late parts
  • Maintain vendor files on any and all correspondence
  • Push through job packets/purchase requests for urgently needed parts and follow up
  • Close jobs in an expeditious manner
  • Have a clear understanding of all processes involved with the position
  • Identify, record and communicate any problems relating to product, process and the quality system
  • Conform to all Quality and Safety requirements and procedures
  • Participate in the Continuous Improvement Process
  • Perform other duties as requested or as deemed appropriate
  • Coordinate parts delivery and pickup
