Job summary

Navy Exchange Service Command seeks a Vending Manager to oversee Exchange-owned and contracted vending operations in the Bethesda area. You will manage procurement, inventory control, and financials to achieve net contributions and ensure compliance with policies.

Responsibilities include supervising vending operations, maintaining asset records, and coordinating with Exchanges to optimize merchandising and promotions. Requires driving license and ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Three years of general experience in merchandising, technical, or other responsible work enabling knowledge of merchandising and procurement practices, ability to deal with others, mature judgment.
• One year of related academic study above high school level may substitute for 9 months of experience up to a maximum of four-year bachelor’s degree for three years of general experience.
• One year of responsible experience providing background in merchandising operations, vending maintenance of equipment, inventory, customer service, sanitation, security, and safety measures, or similar supervisory work.
• Regularly lifts and transports moderately heavy objects up to 40 lbs; occasional heavier items with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates and supervises all facets of Exchange-owned and contracted vending operations.
• Works under supervision and meets objectives in cost control, loss prevention and operational efficiency.
• Maintains inventory, equipment records and asset registers; ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
• Reviews vending machine reports and implements promotional actions to meet sales and profit goals.
• Travels to assigned activities within the district for short to long periods as required.
