Job summary

Advantest America in San Jose, CA seeks a Velocity Applications Engineer to work directly with semiconductor customers deploying the Velocity test automation platform on-site. The role is front-line, customer-facing and hands-on, focusing on integrating Velocity with DFT, design verification and production test workflows, troubleshooting issues, and driving successful adoption across teams.

Qualifications

• Strong background in semiconductor test, ATE, digital test, or DFT.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot, optimize workflows, and drive adoption of Velocity.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical interface between Velocity engineering and customer teams.
• On-site deployment, configuration, and integration of Velocity into customer test workflows.
• Understand customer test methodologies and translate requirements into Velocity solutions.
• Support conversion and deployment of digital test content from EDA/DFT environments to ATE.
• Troubleshoot issues involving test patterns, timing, pin mapping, and test program integration.
• Analyze Velocity logs and data to identify root causes and propose fixes.
• Help customers improve test development productivity and pattern conversion performance.
• Collaborate with internal Velocity teams to reproduce problems and validate fixes.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI-assisted analysis and automation to improve productivity.
• Provide technical feedback to guide product development.
• Conduct demonstrations, training sessions, and proofs-of-concept.
• Assist customers during silicon bring-up, production ramps, and new technology deployments.
• Develop application examples and reusable customer workflows.
• Build strong technical relationships with customer engineers and travel as required.
