Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks an organized Specialist II to process vehicle titles for auctions, verify accuracy, and ensure compliance with state regulations. You will interact with customers, dealers, and regulators to resolve titling issues and assist with sale day activities.

The role emphasizes attention to detail and safe operations in a busy office setting. Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED with relevant experience, strong communication skills, and basic computer proficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related experience, or alternative combinations as described in the posting.
• Effective communication skills required.
• Must possess good problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Basic computer software skills required.
• Vision abilities include near, distance, and depth perception.
• Preferred: Notary seals and stamps.

Responsibilities

• Process and re-assign titles for vehicles sold by the auction.
• Examine title for accuracy and conformity to requirements.
• Verify title acceptance in the filing state.
• Confirm VIN, odometer, liens releases, and no alterations.
• Determine negotiability of title documents and assess for fraud.
• Resolve titling issues through customer, dealer, and regulator interactions.
• Negotiate price adjustments between buyer and seller for title problems when needed.
• Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and apply regulations per state.
• Handle inbound calls and route to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with sale day transactions using the AS400 and customer service.
• Run and follow up on outstanding title reports and contact sellers.
• Issue gate passes and assist with sale day balancing.
